Bookkeeping & Accounting

Bookkeeping Services

Recording and reconciling day-to-day transactions, with books closed at an agreed frequency.

Monthly closing is typically completed within 7–10 days of receiving the records

Bookkeeping is the routine work of recording what the business has bought, sold, received and paid, and reconciling those records against the bank and the ledgers. Every return you file and every decision you take on the numbers depends on it being done consistently.

We keep books for proprietors, partnership firms, LLPs and companies — either as the entire accounting function or alongside an in-house person who handles entry while we review and close each period.

A regular cycle rather than a year-end scramble

Books written up once a year, in the weeks before a return is due, are slower to prepare and far more likely to contain errors that nobody can now explain. Bank entries from eleven months ago are hard to identify, and the people who would have known are working on something else.

A monthly cycle avoids that. You send records once a month, we record and reconcile them, and you get a closed period and a short list of anything we could not identify while it is still fresh.

Working with what you already have

We do not require you to change software to work with us. We work in Tally and in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and can work from spreadsheets, scanned bills or a shared folder of photographs if that is how your records currently arrive.

If your existing records are behind or inconsistent, we will tell you what it takes to bring them current before we start the regular cycle.

Who needs this

  • Proprietors and firms without an in-house accountant
  • Businesses whose books have fallen behind
  • Businesses with an in-house person who needs review and period closing
  • Businesses preparing for an audit or a loan application

Eligibility and conditions

  • Source records in some usable form — bills, statements or existing data
  • Bank statements for every account operated
  • An agreed frequency for sharing records

What this covers

  • Regular recording

Transactions recorded at an agreed frequency rather than annually.

  • Bank reconciliation

Every account reconciled as part of closing the period.

  • Ledger reconciliation

Debtors, creditors and major ledgers reviewed.

  • Missing-document list

What we could not identify, reported rather than guessed at.

  • Closed periods

A closed set of books and statements each period.

How the process works

  1. Review where things stand

What is recorded, in what system, how far behind.

  2. Agree the cycle

What you send, how often, and in what form.

  3. Record

    Transactions posted to the books.

  4. Reconcile

Bank and major ledgers reconciled, queries raised.

  5. Close and report

    Period closed and statements shared.

Documents required

  • Sales invoices

For the period, in any consistent format.

  • Purchase bills and expense vouchers

    Including cash expenses.

  • Bank statements

For every account, for the full period.

  • Existing accounting data

Tally backup or an export from your current system.

  • Loan documents

    Sanction letters and repayment schedules.

  • Asset purchase invoices

For anything capitalised during the period.

The list above is indicative. Additional documents may be required depending on your case and the current departmental requirements.

Frequently asked questions

My books are two years behind. Can that be fixed?

Usually, yes, provided the underlying records still exist — bank statements, purchase bills and sales records. We start by assessing what is available and what is missing, and set out what it will take to bring the books current before doing the work.

Where documents are genuinely unavailable, we will tell you what can be reconstructed and what cannot, rather than filling gaps with assumptions.

Do I have to change my accounting software to work with you?

No. We work in Tally and in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and can also work from spreadsheets or scanned records if that is how your records currently arrive.

If we think a change would genuinely help, we will explain why — but it is not a condition of working together.

Books behind, or no one keeping them?

Tell us where things stand and we will set out what it takes to bring them current and keep them there.
